Dating back to the 2003 season, Wimbush rushed for over 100 yards in 13 consecutive games. Wimbush is the first Fort Valley State football player to be invited to the Hula Bowl. “It’s definitely an honor for me to be associated with the first Fort Valley State Wildcat to be selected to the Hula Bowl,” stated head John Morgan. “It’s good to see the tradition of Wildcats being selected to play in high profile all-star games being continued by Derrick.” The game will be broadcast live on ESPN and worldwide on the Westwood One/CBS radio network. This past season, the Wildcats were 7-4 (4-4 SIAC). http://www.fvsu.edu/Athletics/football/football_news_details.asp?RecordID=221 HE IS THE ONLY PLAYER FROM AN HBCU IN THE BOWL GAME (correct me if I am wrong)
