50/50 In A Relationship...Is That Possible?? Posted on 01-12-2005

I think a 50/50 relattionship is all mental. I fyou guys are on the same level mentally and you guys are real with each other, then you can have a 50/50 relationship. Otherwise one person is simply playing with the other. What exactly do you mean 50/50 though? Do you mean who makes all the decisions in the relationship, or do you mean who cares about who more (dont know if i said that right or not)

OK I know what I mean Do youmean 50/50 as in who has more "control" or who makes all the decisions or 50/50 as in who gives more or brings more (not financially, but emotionally) to the relationship

Why do we feel that a 50/50 relationship is ideal??
In a perfect world....relationships would be 50/50. Couples would consider each others feelings more, as well as make decisions together instead of one person leading and the other following. This type of relationship is ideal, because to me, it seems like it would cause the less stress and drama in a relationship.....if only this were a perfect world.....

how about if both people in the relationship put in 100% effort into it?not jus half and half.thats how u get a lot of problems in relationships.u cant do a "50/50".if one half isnt doin their job the relationship is messed up.but what if both were puttin in 100%.there would be some room for error.ever thought about that? :?: :?

Because that makes too much sense. People go into relationships looking for someone to complete themselves...bad idea. Thats an act of co-depence. You should bring 100% of yourself to the table, and if they can't do the same, screw 'em.

Everyone says they want a 50/50 relationship but is that even possible?
Who is everyone? Two separate and unrelated halves can never make something whole. All a 50/50 relationship means is that it is one built upon expecting a person to give just as much as you give. NEGATIVE A person's perception of what they bring to the table is always different than the perception held by the other person. Two people have to give their all to a relationship 100% of the time. On the other matter in your post. Roles are a whole and totally different subject all together. I will always be the head of my household, whether I was the main bread winner or not. Submissive, in my mind, only applies to a woman submitting her will to a man who has submitted his will to a higher power.

Submissive and submit arent the same things.A wife is to submit to her husband just like he is to submit to God...Does that make him submissive?Nope
