All day on campus, people are talking about getting drafted and how Bush said he wasn't for a draft. I thought the draft was not going to be re-instated and I also thought neither Kerry nor Bush were for the draft....so what's going on?

He's either uninformed, or doesn't care about his own race. And when somebody speaks the truth against someone like that, all they can do is call you a "sore loser"
Thirdly, What truth has been spoken....the only truth I see is that Kerry has lost the election :?
omg, you're missing the point....OBviously if Kerry LOSES this RACE, THAT will be a FACT...the TRUTH... but THAT wasn't the TRUTH i was referring to....I was speaking of the truth that should have prevailed to keep Bush from even "winning," in the FIRST place....the HONESTY behind voter registration...behind voters knowing the facts about when to vote, where to vote, IF they could vote, etc. etc. etc.... THAT is the TRUTH I am looking for.... ----------------- Voter registration tampering fears allayed "A Glide woman filed a complaint with Nielsen's office alleging that two men signing up voters outside Sherm's Thunderbird in Roseburg had tried to pressure her husband into registering as a Republican. Leanne Adalia said they also asked her husband, David Smith, to write down his choice for president on the registration form. The couple became suspicious after reading a newspaper story about how canvassers working for Sproul & Associates were being paid to sign up new voters. They worried that because Smith hadn't registered as a Republican his card might not be turned in." "A number of Douglas County registration cards turned in by canvassers were marked in the margin with the words "will vote Bush," referring to President George W. Bush. A sampling of those cards revealed the notation only appeared on registration cards in which the voter registered either as a Democrat or as an independent." ( http://www.oregonnews.com/article/20041031/NEWS/111010012 ) ----------------- Thousands of registrations in Milwaukee unprocessed "Between 15,000 and 20,000 Milwaukee residents who registered to vote in recent months have not had their forms processed and may find themselves unregistered at the polls Tuesday, Mayor Tom Barrett said today." ( http://www.jsonline.com/news/metro/nov04/271437.asp ) ----------------- Watchdog Groups Report Tricks To Keep Voters Home "WASHINGTON -- There are some nasty tricks being played on potential voters, according to lawyers with groups that are monitoring pre-election activities in a number of battleground states. In the hotly contested state of Pennsylvania, some people have received official-looking phony letters that say because the turnout is going to be so large that only Republicans should vote Tuesday, and the Democrats should wait until Wednesday, which -- of course -- is too late. Pennsylvania Attorney General Jerry Pappert said several senior citizens have reported that someone has been calling them and telling them their voter registration has expired and not to bother showing up at the polls Tuesday, reported WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pa." "The NAACP says most of the phony fliers and phone calls are targeting black, Hispanic and elderly voters, including a phony letter circulating in South Carolina and fliers elsewhere that falsely tell voters that if they have unpaid parking tickets and they go to a polling place Tuesday, they'll be arrested and their children will be taken away. The South Carolina letter is supposedly from the NAACP. The Rev. Joe Darby, vice president of the real South Carolina NAACP, called it "old South Carolina politics" and said he doesn't think people will fall for it. But he does want an investigation." "He said the letter was an attempt to scare minorities from voting Tuesday because the author of the message assumes black people are in trouble with the law. The letter also said voters must have a credit check, provide two forms of photo ID, a Social Security card, a voter registration card and a handwriting sample. Registrars said that's untrue. What's needed is a voter registration card or a state driver's license or a state-issued ID card." "The NAACP says minority voters are deliberately facing voter registration problems. One lawyer estimates that 100,000 absentee ballots will go uncounted in the battleground states of Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York." ( http://www.thebostonchannel.com/politics/3878517/detail.html ) ------------------- i am not speaking excuses....it is a REALITY and I'm not saying there hasn't been any funny business going on on the part of the Democrats as well...but not NEARLY as much as the Republicans have done.... & I KNOW that if EVERYONE just comPLETELY eliminated the UNDERHANDED tricks, BUSH WOULD NOT WIN THIS RACE & that's just the bottom line....
