i've heard many people say that it is a shame that blacks are the first to head to the back of the bus and back of the classrooms after everything the people came before us did just to achieve the right of being able to do the opposite - be at the front...
personally-speaking...when i get on a bus...it really depends on my destination, how soon i'll be getting off, etc. etc....but for the most part...i do tend to go str8 to the back...
even in classrooms....that varies too...but usually, i'll try to get one of the back seats...or seats furthest to one of the sides....it's just hard for me to be in the front or middle...
and this is why...
and i could be wrong...but this is for me...
i like to see everything that's going on....i don't like the idea of people being behind me....even when i'm walking with my friends - if it's a group of us or even just one other friend & they're behind me....i'll stop long enough for them to either get in front or beside me...
I want to be able to see everything...be the observer...not the person being observed...that's just a big preference of mine and for the type of person i am...
& also...as far as sitting in the back of the classroom is concerned....most of the time, i end up making better grades than those who sit in the absolute front row anyway....i mean, i feel that if you KNOW that you need to be sittin' up at that front in order to make your grade...then go for it...but i zone out a LOT in class...write in a notebook...draw...mess with my phone...have a "when in tha hell iz this class gonna be over?" expression on my face....tha whole nine...so i just feel it is always best for me to not be up at the front with all of that goin' on...especially if i can do all of that & none of it really reflect on my grades ultimately....

First off, I'mma have to disagree with whoever said that. We fought for the right to sit wherever the hell we wanted and not to be forced to sit in particular section.
So on that note, I go STRAIGHT to the....::thinks about it:: When I get on the shuttle I sit in the VERY first sit.. but on the bus its straight to the back.

now when i say where u sit on a bus....well, for me...i never ride city buses either...
i was personally-speaking about our campus shuttles...i almost ALWAYS go to the back...unless i'm in a rush to get to class & know i'm gonna need to get off quick once we get to the destination

one thing i've noticed about our shuttlez, tho...the dudes tend to sit in the back....the females sit in the front...for the MOST part...
there r dudez who sit in tha front & middle too...but particularly the females r good 4 sittin' in the front...
not I...i just love to see everything going on...i don't like folkz being behind me....
Whenever I ride a bus(if I ever ride a bus) I normally sit close to the front.
As far as classrooms, for some reason it depends on class interest. Most of the time I'll sit in the middle. However, if I really don't care for the class I will sit in the back.
i dont ride public transportation too often but when i do i go to the back. im an observer and i like to see everything thats going on and take in everything. as for the classroom, i like to sit **** center. not in the front, but no where near the back and no where near the side near the wall. if i sit near a wall i dont know what it is but it tempts me to go to sleep if im tired. cuz none of my teachers pay much attention to wallflowers. i like to be right in the mix of things. be able to look right, left, front and back. yea i think thats it 8)
you know what i'm still in high school
so you know on those school trips....when you ride the bus....you and ya peeps always RAN TO THE BACK and reserved seats for everybody in ya VIP
I mean the back is always "CRUNK" and you try to get away from the adults and supervisors so you can say what you want to say when you want to say it...and do whatever....
But lately I've been makin jokes about that....they just laugh @ me...but in a way I be serious
I be like PEOPLE FOUGHT FOR US TO SIT IN THE FRONT AND WE ALWAYS IN THE BACK....
In high school I used to sit in the back of the bus and the front of the class.
Now I sit in the front of the bus whenever I ride on one and in the front of the class. I only sit on the back of the bus when the team goes somewhere so I can act up.
when i was ridin the bus in my freshman year and sophmore years of hs, i jus sat wherever i could find a seat cuz all those negroes from school would get out before me and take all the seats :evil: ..but if i was just on an empty bus, id sit in the front

I know this is off topic and everything. But I HATE the dudes who ride the shuttle! Why? Because you can tell just how they were raised. I've been at this school for three years. I've only seen a man get up and give his seat to a girl ....two times. I KNOW ya'll mommas taught ya'll better than that. Especially when you see ole girl get on with heels on and you just stare at her while she heads to the back and has to stand....and you chillin in some sneaks... :roll:

i agree with everybody who said they sit towards the back cause they like to observe. i just don't like feeling like people are looking at the back of my head. in the classroom, i don't like sitting in the front because it just makes me feel like i'm supposed to be wearing glasses or something.
