**** Scene in Detroit Posted on 11-19-2004

any other time i'd put this in the sports thread, but i want to say that the people of Detroit who were involved in this scene are some punk **** ****.... :!:  AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Indiana's Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson charged into the stands and fought with fans in the final minute of their game against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, forcing an early end to the Pacers' 97-82 win. The game was stopped with 45.9 seconds remaining when a pushing and shoving between the teams spilled into the stands after fans began throwing things at the players near the scorer's table. ``It's the ugliest thing I've seen as a coach or player,'' Pistons coach Larry Brown said. After several minutes of players fighting with fans in the stands, the Pacers were pelted with beer, ice, and popcorn as they made their way to the locker room in one of the scariest brawls in an NBA game. The Palace announcer said the game was being stopped and pleaded with fans not to throw things. that's a damn shame... don't blame Artest for goin into the stands after having that beer thrown on you

WELL MOST OF YALL WILL PROBABLY NOT AGREE WITH WHAT I'M ABOUT TO SAY BUT: I DONT THINK BEN WALLACE SHOULD HAVE PUSHED RON ARTEST BUT HE WAS FOULED KINDA HARD. SECONDLY, PEOPLE THROW STUFF DOWN ALL THE TIME I MEAN IF YOU STAY UNTIL THE END OF THE GAME YOU WILL SEE MAD TRASH ON THE COURT. NOW I DONT AGREE WITH WHAT THE FAN DID BUT DOES THAT REALLY DIVE ARTEST THE RIGHT TO JUMP INTO THE CROWD MAKING THE PROBLEM EVEN WORSE??? NO!!! THAT DUDE IS AN ATHLETE AND IN THE SPOTLIGHT, HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER, THAN THAT! WELL ALL I GOT TO SAY IS... GO PISTONS!!!! I LOVE BEN WALLACE

I think this will bring major changes ahead for ALL of sports, and here's a few... Separation of the fans/player by BARRICADE. Limited alcohol. 2 beers per fan, and no liquor. So what if Budweiser endorses a league..their product makes the fans act stupid, and the league should be protecting their investments. Prosecution of fans that break the rules  HEAVY police presence. That will change a LOT of things. Especially in baseball and hockey (which is a lot worse than the NBA when it comes to fans fighting with players).

The Pistons gained so much respect and love from other people and other fans since they won this championship. Now they dampered that because of this.
