Are you serious?!?!?!?!?!? I hope you are just joking. As a proscpective student of FAMU, I realized ya'll do not lead the nation in grades. Ya'll are very far from it. Shoot, if that was the case simply look at ya'lls admissions minimums. Also, ya'll don't lead in sports...didn't a whole bunch of ya'lls titles get retracted earlier this season? I remember reading in the newspaper about all the problems ya'll were having. And it wasn't just a page, it was the whole damn section. And about ya'll having the best band....hmmm I don't think so. I mean it's good and all but I think BCC has a better band, but they don't get recognized because their school is so small. You think other HBCU's copy off of FAMU?!?!?!? When was FAMU founded???? In 1887...hmm...there were so many other HBCU's that were founded before that time, so you need to go on with that statement. I'm not even going to lie, FAMU is a good school, but it ain't all of what you are claiming in this post.
 Im not even going to try and waste my time arguing at this ignorant **** comment. Besides, its your opinion and you have every right to say what the hell you want, but please speak on ****you know...and imma leave it at that

okay I have mad respect for famu half of my family goes there and are in the band. But clearly u are not all you believe that you are, because among the top hbcus morehouse, spellman, and hampton are in the top three, where is famu on that list.
Aye one thing about it, FAMU may not be in the top 3 (so you say) but we still remain rated one of the top HBCUs in the nation.... and thats for damn sho!

FAMU is a good school, but damn, EVERYONE copies off of FAMU? If people want to believe that then be my guest. I mean I could see if FAMU was perfect in every single way or something *yawns*

There must be a reason why copied if so. That is what you have noticed. What is perfection? As long as man is involved in any system, there is going to be imperfections. Don't get lost in what the overall msg. is. Look at those in the Bible? No better system but it was man and woman that messed up the best system ever created. By the way, 1 does not have to prove intellect. It is a gift of all. I have had many try to match mine, but never lost. Why? I have nothing to prove. Been here a little longer than you. Don't know all, much to learn, have learned a few things. Biblically intellects join, not compete. Just a hint Bro. Intellectually I pray you may know where I come from, see where I have been, know where I am coming from and perceive where I am going. Take, Care, "God" Bless!! Sincerely William

know this smack talk so let get some things straight. Every school has their strengths and weaknessess. FAMU is not as bad off as people think it is. WileECoyote06, congratulations on your success and expansion of NCCU with James Ammons as your chancellor and Roland Gaines as your Vice-Chancellor but you sought the best employees for your opening but you had to come to FAMU to get them. FYI Ammons and Gaines left because it was too much politicking involved with the Governor and the Board of Regents because Humphries was forced to resign (with their forced resignation soon to follow), otherwise Humbphries would have went through the same thing Gainous went through. They are SERIOUSLY trying to shut down or merge FAMU with FSU or TCC. Our situation is not as big as the media portrays it to be. Sassy6860, on the B.E. 100 list FAMU may not be in the top 3, but the top 5 on the list are private HBCUs schools. FAMU is #6 and #1 public HBCU school with A&T being #2. Look at all factors that are not used in these rankings, for instance affordability. FAMU is called Florida's Opportunity University because it gives almost anyone a chance to go to college and the least likely chance to break a family's budget. How many private schools can say that. Now when the Governor and the Board of Trustees let the President run FAMU the way they want to and not the way the Board of Trustees want it too, then we wouldn't be having these problems. Somebody is always trying to micromanage something they have no business running, that is why Gainous is no longer president come Jan 1 cause the BOT want to run the school and not let the President run it.

Thanx so much for the knowledge!!!!! A lot has went down since I graduated from FAMU. I know how our Lawschool was taken in the 60's. I am elated that we got it back. When I was at FAMU, every year the Gov't was trying to verge our school with FL State(I am a Miami U football fan and few at FAMU liked FL State!). I did not knoe that the same politicking was going on. The engineering school at FL State was stolen from FAMU. Isn't that ironic that, blacks dont have it easy getting into that program. I admire the intellect and the backup. I see much talent here. Future Lawyers and Politicians!!!!! I am proud of you. Keep up the brilliance. Awesome info about those who downed FAMU, tapped into our talent base, that they bragged about. This is so poetically put. I cannot state any better. Good point also about affordability. That is how I got my B.S. and will get my J.D.(FAMU Lawschool). Wow!!! Take Care(We as a people need you!!), "God" Bless, Peace!!! Sincerely William

I really hope you are not looking into attending FAMU anymore! You should have pride in your future college rather than shine negative light on it. So like I said, I hope you have found another college choice. First of all, newspapers are going to blow situations out of proportion merely to draw greater attention to the issues. They don't always reflect schools in the best light. You do not attend FAMU so it is impossible for you to understand exactly what is occuring. It's clear you don't quite understand the goals set out by the founders of FAMU. FAMU was created to give African-Americans a chance to better themselves. At FAMU, mediocre students, as well as several exceptional students, are often alotted opportunities that may have been unreachable anywhere else, thus the lower admissions standards. If you really want to attend a school you should look into its origins, and what the school stands for. U shouldn't look at a school solely at face value, otherwise you will definitely miss out on several great opportunities.
Umm, no offense, but I said I was a perspective student..meaning that FAMU was one of my choices. I attend Hampton, but I wasn't trying to downplay ya'lls school, I was simply responding to the statements made by heman7.
pretty much... i got much respect for FAMU, but that dude was just making it seem like it is the holy grail... FAMU is a great school, as is Hampton, Howard, Skegee, and A&T... but it's not the cathedral of HBCUs as ol' dude is making it... i really didn't see any harm in Jia's post personally...
Thanks D!!
And nobody asked if you saw any harm in her post Dwayne Thanks! LOL
wow, Miss B still remembers me... i thought i was a distant memory to her since she stopped talking to me

Wow this person is misunderstood on 3 accounts 1.those arent my opinions...who am i to judge famu?....i just report what people who went there say and put report the rankings 2.calm down...dont get your blood pressure up over what a person says who hasent even been to your school.... 3. U don't know me....don't judge me(espically from a internet message posting board), I don't judge you :-\
that's ironic that your telling her not to judge you but your judging her school, and you don't even go there, nor have you ever went there, and why is it that your putting down all these schools anyway, have you attended all of them and want to inform people what you know or are you hating?
