There are a number of things that can be done to strengthen the relationship between the African American and Hispanic communities living within the United States. This issue can be resolved by working together to focus on their political, cultural, communication and community issues. First off, the two communities must put aside their differences and work upon resolving the issues that lie with in their similarities. A good portion of minorities live in Lower income housing, due to a lack of finance and the mentality to rely on government funds; such as welfare, medicaid and other financial assistance programs. The reason many minorities lack finance is because of little or no college education. As a community, both Hispanics and African Americans should work together on keeping their children off the streets. This can be done by involving their children in after school programs that will motivate them on staying in school. For their childrens motivation, clubs such as, sports, dance and talent groups can be an option. This is a good way to unite both communities through Spanish and African art and dance festivals as well as simply just coming together to root their kids sport affiliation. As for minorities relying on government funds, we must stop this cycle. Instead of relying on these funds, they should work together on building upon the government funds that can better their lives. Like for example; medicaid and financial aid. If our government wants us as Americans to be healthy and succeed in life, they need to boost up the amount that is afford. It is beneficial to both the minorities as well as the government. By giving minorities the proper, less children will go hungry, their will be an increase in college enrollment and the crime rate will drop. As well as resolving issues within the two communities, African Americans and Hispanics can embrace their cultural differences by promoting change as minorities. This can be done by getting together through public gatherings. They can get to know each other through church, parties and barbeques. By doing so, minorities can grow stronger as a whole by learning about ones cultural backgrounds. They can learn about different foods, music and traditions. In conclusion, I believe that the relationships between African Americans and Hispanics can be strengthen by working together to address issues with in the community as well as getting to know each other and realizing everyone wants the same thing. To have a good life for themselves and their children, as well as to raise their family in a good home.
