African Americans and Hispanic Americans should work together more often due to the growth in the minority communities. It isn’t a secret we share a lot of the same struggle. Our culture is so tense, and uninviting that we couldn’t even imagine the power and joy unity could bring. Now that the minority has became the majority its time to do what’s best for our futures. The president we chose, the cultures we allow ourselves to embrace, and the way we communicate with each other all plays a role in addressing and attacking the community issue we face. We need to stop singling out one another and appreciate true community leaders and what they have done for us! Martin Luther king fought for our rights and equality just like Gandhi and César Estrada Chavez. What they have done improves life for all of us and should encourage us to want more out of the years we spend on earth. What we can do to strengthen our community is explore other cultures. Think out side the box so were open minded to everyone’s personal opinion, and cultural differences. At that time we could really appreciate ourselves and the ones around us. Hispanic Americans and African Americans have so much in common and we should accept the ethic diversity our ancestors left us with and spread knowledge through them. I feel having a day where we can celebrate the accomplishments of the minorities and the strong growth of our community would increase the respect we have for each other and the impact we allow ourselves to make daily. I am an active participant in other minorities’ cultures and I find it to be uplifting and enlightening in every aspect. Taking a hula dancing class or watching a documentary on Hinduism can allow you to understand other peoples’ beliefs, and to become more educated on real life situations and cultural differences. I feel that no good deed goes unnoticed and helping to strengthen your community never hurts! Due to the fact that Historical black college and universities help by giving scholarships, knowledge, and guidance it could only promote more minorities to start and finish college, and be able to give back to the very community that once contributed to your success. Making highly respected minorities and well accomplished community leaders aware of what our intentions are, is a start to keeping our colleges going! Decreasing the amount of help you already provide would only leave us feeling more unimportant to the society, isolated from the intelligent and well established minorities! Give us a chance to evolve into a successful nation one by one. Frederick Douglass once couldn’t read but he had a divine interest in learning after he saw what power knowledge could bring. Frederick Douglass Became friends with what some would call the enemies and became one of the most intelligent African Americans of his time, and he was a ****! Within ourselves lies the key to success. Knowing our history only shows us how far we can really go but only if were willing to get there!
