How and why should H.B.C.U continue Posted on 02-28-2008

(to support the needs of African American Students and possibly the needs of the growing Hispanic/ Afro-Hispanic) population in the United States?) In my opinion these Historical Black Colleges & Also Universities should continue to support the needs of this student because it gives them a chance to educate themselves for better causes from other Black/ Afro-Hispanics that do badly on tests, Have Criminal Records, Young parents and etc. All these young adults are looking for a second chance and the main point and matter is that is what "Historically Black College & Universities are here for. Every person from every race deserves a second chance to do better at life no matter what ungrateful or bad choices they made in the past and the only thing we African Americans and Also Afro Hispanics Can Have to get a proper job or as you would say decent is a degree. Equal education believe it or not is still hard in the united states Children in Private schools are being better taught than most children in Public schools and that has been proven a lot of times. HBCUS Takes consideration and very well knows that it is extremely hard living life not coming from a white race in this modern time of day. I'm Saying this because in this time of life mostly Blacks and Hispanics are being degraded in this time also Asians but mainly those two and Hbc & Universities have given us an environment where we can learn together not to make each other think that we are superior than every other race but to make us realize that despite what we think of each other we can come together stand tall with our heads high even though most people of this society point their fingers to us expecting us to do no more than wrong and be a disappointment .Believe it or not me saying what I’m about to might come in offensive to my race but its true "Blacks & Hispanics" have the highest rates of Drop outs ,Pregnancy and Young males and females going to jail. All of this could be changed if we come together and work as a team to change all of this for example we need to start working more into he community and become a role model for the younger children not only of our race but every race to show that no matter what the case we can make a difference. If we reach out to the younger children and become a role model they will view life and education as a requirement for gaining money and getting a future instead of stealing and becoming addicted to ****. When Black/Hispanic Graduate it gives them hope that they can do so much more than other and also themselves thought they could do and that sends them of with a new goal to reach even higher into he sky to accomplish what they need to in life and this is something that Every single HBC & universities can offer you something to reach for. They will not make you forget your past but use it as the story that made you stronger the story that now makes you the instigator of a good doer. Like Og Mandinoa said: "Every memorable act in the history of the world is a triumph of enthusiasm. Nothing great was ever achieved without it because it gives any challenge or any occupation, no mater how frightening or difficult, a new meaning. Without enthusiasm you are doomed to a life of mediocrity but with it you can accomplish miracles" The main reason there is a lack of communication between us fellow black people and Hispanics is because most Hispanics do not want to consider themselves part of the discriminated community and some also don’t like black people but what they don’t realize it behind it all ,white races well some people of the white race consider us a different species from themselves so your question might be like everyone else is why is it so hard for these two races to work together well the one word for that is stubbornness. But Through it all it would be extremely beneficial for Blacks and Hispanics to intergrate, because we have both been hurt and neglected as individual races for so long. All this was done in the beginning as self preservation and now enough is enough its time to heal this wound. The strength of our communities will start with the strength within each other individually. Like Og Madinoa:said " I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth will I apply ALL my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy." Love is the answer to all the problems Love and appreciation and that’s what we need to do in this world today we need to love and appreciate our neighbours, family and most of all our selves because if we don’t love ourselves first who will? Like my Grandfather always used to tell me "in order to love or recive love you have to love yourself first". This worls that we live in is unquie and valuable due to its diversities. We African Americans cannot do it all on our own no one can do it on their own we all need help at one point in our life.We are drowning ourselves in this useless racial prejudice war and not realizeing the real problems in life. We need to start a new book of life with fresh clean pages a brand new pen with dark thick ink and tell the glorious achievements we have yet to reach. What we have to understand is that we were not ment to walk this earth alone it was not only created for that one person some of us only see"you" it was made for everyone. We might have settled int his country as one but we now all live together and we have to starting doing the definition of TOLORANCE. Now this paragraph right here makes a very good point and actually describes the facts and not fiction that certain people might use in their eassy’s. (Published in 1968, the International Encyclopedia of the Social Sciences described the function of education in the U.S. as raising the "culturally unformed" (512). Two specific examples of the culturally unformed given in the volume were children and immigrants. Nearly forty years later, the leading group of immigrants to the United States, Latinos, also lead the country in high school drop out rates. Many of these students are either the children of recent immigrants or immigrants themselves. Unable to afford the luxuries of private schooling and upper middle class homes, children living in urban areas attend schools where they are tracked into vocational occupations rather than encouraged to matriculate to college. Details of our educational system such as the ones just described are indicative of the crises American students face.) Now you really want to know how you can really make Hispanics and African Americans work together and finally understand whats going on take them to a room sit them down and ask them if a white man is walking down on one side of the street and a black man on the other then a Hispanic male right behind them what are the chances of the white man being pulled over by the police 20% and under. How many times have you seen a white man violated in the streets we walk in today compared to Hispanics and blacks ?.how may times do you get tired of being looked at in the streets like you are a criminal? Then I think they will really understand that we do not have a choice right now it is a must that we work together , we have to take a stand walk to the shadow of the valley of death fear no evil and if we can do that together as a team as a family the younger children will follow . All of this which I just explained can be learned and tought at the HBCU that’s why we need them so so badley to help us in this world we don’t only need them for personal reasons but we need them to help us as a community together. Now with a little bit more promotion like I said earlier in one of the few paragraphs I wrote and get together we can get so much more people to attend these colleges. We could have ads being posted in the new papers probably a fun raiser to get more books that has facts about both races like you see what ‘m doing right now I’m giving ideas that’s something these races share that’s in common we both have ideas that might be different but once you put them together it can make so much of a difference you would be surprised .As individuals we are not all that mighty but if we all come together we are an army stronger than any rock erupted from this earth .Also all these essays being written could be formed into a book to teach most kids in these colleges for the better . "Treasure the love you receive above all. It will survive long after your good health has vanished." That’s what Og Mandino said but I just wanted to use that point referring to these colleges since they are here after so much hard work we should treasure them and use them to our advantage to the fullest don’t just take them for granted. If we don’t use these colleges now there will be no use for them then they will get closed down and what’s going to happen in the community? What will happen to all the future kids in this world how will we live? What’s going to happen more children will go to jail, more teens will get pregnant more **** will be sold like we need to see the real facts in life if these children can count how much weed money they can make whiten a week they could use that skill in the classroom and ask for the cooking of **** they could use that in a science lab to make a cure for what they used to sell.
