The "African American & Hispanic Unity" Essay Contest
Have you ever noticed that every race stays in their own culture circle? I do, but I feel that there needs to be a change in the United States by getting cultures to work together. I would love to see the African Americans and the Hispanics to work together as minorities.To begin with, I fell that African Americans and Hispanics should work together in the United States as minorities to address political, cultural, communication, and community issues. This is why because it creates peace and more diversity among people. By working together through a cultural being we will begin to understand more about the different cultures and history about those cultures. As in communication between the two cultures we will recognize the different languages and will be engrossed in learning them as well. African Americans and Hispanics working together in the community can bring security. By this I mean that African Americans and Hispanics will trust one another and look out for each other when we are in tough situations. In addition, strengthening the relationships between the African Americans and Hispanics within the United States is very important. I feel that Americans should learn more about other cultures and what they do, say and need in their society. I don’t necessarily mean that us Americans should be enforced to learn about other cultures but I feel that it is respectful to do so. Improvement in the Hispanic community living will be a major strength to them living in the United States. I say this because most Hispanics don’t have enough money to live like most African Americans do. Having the government assist and change their living conditions can change their attitudes on working together with African Americans. This can help the Hispanics experience part of a different culture.I believe that Black Colleges & Universities should continue to support the needs of African American Students. It gives the black community a chance to better themselves and pursue their careers. Most African Americans don’t have the currency or that drive to be accepted at a college. It is either that college’s prerequisite is too high or to get into the college is too expensive. The colleges and universities should have a special program that will help the African Americans get into a college quick and straightforward. These programs can help them become focused and determined to impress themselves or their loved ones. As for the Hispanics I feel that everyone should be accepted in the United States. Other countries are looking at the United States for better education, better living, better safety and better people. I feel that Americans are more of an inspiration to other countries. Having a descent population of Hispanics can show that the United States is a welcoming and secure country.In conclusion having the African Americans and the Hispanics working together can cause a positive action to the United States. It can show that we have respect for other cultures and that we are kind to other people. We want to make new friends and learn new things in this country. Us Americans want to show that we can work together as one and not discriminate.
