In the United States there are people of all shapes and colors. I find a strong bond between Hispanics and African Americans. Both have encountered racism, they continue to express their cultures and struggle everyday in order to live their own interpretations of the American Dream. Even though many do not realize the similarities between these two minorities, the similarities are there and together both African Americans' and Hispanics' strength will grow.
If African Americans and Hispanics unite, their voices will be heard in communities, and in the political, cultural, and the communicative worlds, as well. With this unity, their needs will be heard clearer and the government and the people will realize that African Americans and Hispanics also have a voice that needs to be heard. There are many ways in which these two cultures can come to the realization of the strength that their bonding could create.
An example could be the creations of organizations around the country. Representatives from both of these cultures should go out and publicize the organization and explain what the organization's main objective is. It should be made clear to the people that the alliance that could possibly be made between these two cultures, could not only be beneficiary to them, but most importantly to their children and grandchildren's futures.
Once both cultures have been gathered under one roof, the leaders of the organizations should let them know that any suggestions to help their voices be heard can be freely shared. Everyone involved in the organization should trust one another and be willing to lend a hand to one another. The organization should be more than that, it should be a family. A family willing to speak up for the other and to do whatever necessary to have the government listen to their needs and to recognize them as a strong group.
Historical Black universities and colleges should continue to support the needs of African American students and possibly even the needs of Hispanics. Both of these cultures should know that they have someone to support them and assist them on their journey to excel. They need to know that just because they are of different color and or culture, does not mean that they cannot develop a successful future.
If these universities and colleges continue to assist African Americans and begin to assist Hispanics, pride will be built upon these universities and or colleges. Both African Americans and Hispanics will feel that it is their duty to represent their people and to go beyond their expectations and goals. By knowing that certain universities and or colleges have extended their hands to help them into their home, these students will feel pride and know that they must return that honorable hand with success.
It is a great idea to unify African Americans and Hispanics. Together they will greatly influence not only this country, but the entire world. Historical Black universities and colleges should fulfill their duty and extend their help to these cultures. They should be secure that they will be thanked with success and pride.
