Why should African Americans and Hispanics in the United States work together as minorities to address political, cultural, communication, and community issues?
African Americans and Hispanics should work together not only in the United States of America, but throughout the entire world. Team work is vital and it must be done by all of us in order to grow together as friends. Both, African Americans and Hispanics have many things that they can share in common; hence they both are minorities who experience the every day challenge of growing and expanding in a country where sadly, racism still exists. Through time we have learned to live together in peace and harmony; for the most part. But in reality, the fact that there is still some ignorance out there, causing people to inherit and learn racist behavior(s), must be addressed and resolved as soon as possible. Learning together, blacks and Hispanics, side by side growing to become better and to improve our society is the way to go. Even though we share many similarities, we also share many differences. We have to learn how to work through our differences by learning more about each other and by sharing our culture with one another; share our political, cultural, and any other ideas we may come up with. This is return will improve our communication and through these methods, African Americans and Hispanics will tackle together the everyday challenges we encounter in our lives. Community issues will likely fade away as our communication skills improve, cultural fusion takes place, and politics play in our favor. Whatever community issues are left over from this point forward, will be much easier to address effectively and efficiently by our communities if we continue to work together and grow together as we have been doing in recent times. 2. What can be done to strengthen the relationship between the African American and Hispanic communities living within the United States? In order to strengthen the relationship between the African American and Hispanic communities living within the United States, Hispanics and African American parents must teach their children the importance of being cooperative and working as a team with other people regardless of their background culture, ethnicity, race, beliefs, physical appearance, and the many more differences one may encounter when meeting other people. By nature, men and women fear what is not known to them. For some odd reason we tend to fear, doubt, and even avoid the unfamiliar. We have to learn how to control these emotions that are sometimes felt within us making us feel uneasy about situations just because we feel different than others. And unfortunately, sometimes others make us feel that way. This is when we have to be really strong. We must work together more when chasing our goals and dreams. Let’s face it, without the help of one another, we could not survive in this world. By parents teaching their children early in their lives that other people around them are people who are full of talents, goodness, and love as they are, we will limit any stereotypes that may develop through time. Stereotypes are a huge factor that comes into play when cultures are previewed, reviewed, and analyzed by others of different races. It is sad but unfortunately true that there are still some differences that must be addressed and worked out amongst minorities and non-minorities themselves; at times within their own groups… But never the less African Americans and Hispanics should build a wall of trust that can overcome any barrier and/or conflict that may arise.3. How and why should Historically Black College & Universities continue to support the needs of African American Students and possibly the needs of the growing Hispanic (and afro-Hispanic) population in the United States? Black Colleges and Universities need to continue supporting the needs of African Americans, Hispanics, and Afro-Hispanics because these people need support. In a country where most high paying jobs, luxury, money, and opportunities belong to Caucasians, we need the support to do our best in balancing the country’s opportunities for success to our growing population of Hispanics, and African Americans whom deserve a chance to achieve their dreams as much as any one else. African Americans and Hispanics have been used for entertainment ( sports and Television), Construction (building), landscaping, and hard labor low paying jobs for the most part, while whites have owned most of the wealth and profits accomplished by our success. This is not fair. How come most companies still have white CEO’s and head managers? Why is it that if Hispanics have had so much experience doing construction, carpentry, landscaping, and many other tasks that require much skill, they are not the men and women running the show (Builders and Construction managers)? And how many African American head coaches do we see in the professional basketball (NBA), football (NFL), Baseball (MLB), and Boxing teams of America? Not as many as we should see…That’s for sure! The main reason for this is that we do not have enough support from the government of the United States, which is ran by whites, and the greedy people on the top of ranks, making the most money, do not want to share. Approximately 95-97% of this country’s wealth is controlled by approximately 3-5% of the population in the United States. Why is that? People are starving every day, dying because they do not have the necessary funds to support a medical condition, robbing because they do not have enough food stamps to feed their starving families, and committing **** crimes many times, in fear that they may arrested and put in prison any minute. If those same people who commit crimes because they must to survive had the necessary help to survive, to attend college and get an education, and succeed in life, they would instead be people, serving the community. To be educated is to have the necessary knowledge and power in order to survive in the world. For this reason, it is imperative that the support for our people continue. We want to see healthy and happy successful African Americans and Hispanics develop together into doctors, engineers, lawyers, pilots, Head Managers, CEO’s, politicians , and Presidents. No more waste of talents! People who carry the potential within themselves to be anything they want to be should have an opportunity to prove themselves too. No more exchanging doctors for drug dealers.
