Diversity is beautiful!!! African Americans and Hispanics are of two totally different cultures. This does not mean that these two races can't come and work together. As African Americans and Hispanics in the United States we are faced with discrimination on a daily basis. So what is the point of minorities discriminating against one another. The best thing to do is to work with each other to reach for a common goal. It is hard enough to receive criticism from those who are not minorities, but is even worse to receive that same criticism from those that are minorities. Instead of bringing down our fellow minorities, we need to up lift them. Be proud of who we are and where we come from. This society has some how made it wrong to have a tint to your skin color. The theory in this society is to divide and conquer, which seems to have happened. They have already divided the races, even within the race, to keep us suppressed. Their reason of this suppression is fear of what would become of us if we were to have the same opportunity. When we as minorities find out this fear and band together, we will be a powerful. There will be success in every aspect of our lives.
There are many ****, crimes, and gangs in African American, as well as Hispanic, communities. This means that communication is needed between African American and Hispanic communities. Once good communication has been established, then and only then will the relationship between the two races grow. When we communicate with one another we begin to solve problems that exists in both communities. Proverty is a huge problem in minority communities, but by both cultures brainstorming and figuring out solutions, we learn and grow from one another. Eventually we will become more interested in the others' culture. We grow and expand our visions on life. The line between the two races becomes almost non existent. The boundary that has been set in place for hundreds of years will have been removed. The strength that has been built between the two races will never cease. These two races would have built a united front.
Historically Black Colleges and Universitites give African American students a chance for a higher educational experience after high school. Since Hispanic students face basically the same challenges as African American students, they should be able to recieve the same help. HBCUs understands that not everyone grew up in a mansion with millions of dollars in the bank. Many minorities don't have the money to attend college, but HBCUs make that possible. The money that they supply with scholarships and financial **** helps minorities put themselves through college. Helping us become well educated men and women of color. So once we graduate we have the experience to get a good paying job. That good paying job means finally moving out of that poor neighborhood and providing a better life for ourselves and our children. We all are in the same boat rowing in the river we call life. We can all work together and row to shore, or row against each other and go nowhere.
