in my opionion "welcome to miami" is one of the greatest rap songs in history....but i haven't brought any of his CDs yet

^^^I respect your opinion, but i think that him as an artist goes to show that he's not just your ordinary rapper. Rappers these days seem like they all have the same formula: a song for the streets, a club ****, and a song for the ladies! and its like DAMN can I hear somethin else besides the same ol' sh** on the radio and on artists cds? (thats why I bootleg MOST rap artists cds) I think the song is a creative becuz it don't sound like other songs on the radio.
(but one thing............................That beat does sound a little bit like Outkast's "In the Land of a Million Drums" off of Scooby-Doo! :wink
well i think that will is an excellent actor but as for his music career. i think he should stop before it has a negative affect on his acting career. I think his best song was probably Summertime and i cant even remember what year that came out. He did good in the music business when he was wit DJ jazzy jeff.
i just saw the video yesturday and i hated it!!!! will smith with video hoes? i liked his clean cut image! he;s suppose to be clean cut n not giving a crap what people think about him...that's what made him cool!!!!!

it's always amazed me how people have always been so quick to get on his case, just because he doesn't cuss in 98% of his lyrics (or even 99% of 'em) like the majority of the other rap artists on the radio...and talk about the most negative aspects of life all the time (or at all).....then you have all of these other "empty" rappers out there & they get praised & sweated....
that is beyond me...
and how dem is now disappointed in Will Smith for slightly conforming for the "norm" of Black music videos....that's precisely y i think he should just do him & continue to not care what people say about him or his image....'cause u're never gonna please everyone, and what's the point in significantly changing how u do things....at the expense of changing yourself....if what you did before did work?? no, most Black people may not care for Will's music, but the man's paid out tha ****, regardless...he can do whatever he pleases at this point....he's got this far making what Black people are quick to label as "soft" rap music...so he might as well stick to what works for him....
his music is nice, to me....a breath of air...
everyone doesn't regard his music like that, but hey...like i said, can't please everyone....
