I just got a full tuition and book scholarship from tuskegee. good right? well, the catch is that i have to pay my NON-REFUNDABLE $500 enrollment fee by Jan 31st. i don't know where i gonna get the money on such short notice plus i don't know if want to go to school so far away from home. i haven't even visited the campus yet. i have to struggle to afford the trip. i want to attend a HBCU so bad.

well, as a former student of TU, ill give you the rundown.......the campus is beautiful...FAM doesnt compare at all....the parties are great at first, but after a while you know everybody, somewhere in your second semester.
but they do party hard....the girls dance and it cracks....unlike fam which has parties with 18 million people that can still be lame....it is in the country, so if you dont have a car that can get you 30 min away to work and back, you won't get a job, the people are cool, the programs are cool, and get away from home.. trust me.
i mean, everyone has thier own opinions about schools, but academicly....i think its pretty much the same...depending on your major..as most hbcu's.
the party thing, its what you make it, like i said.. famu has millions of people at every party and sometimes they still suck..
one last plus....their are a lot of out of state people...a diffenent plus at any hbcu...more diversity.
i am a "former" tuskegee student as well. i actually love tuskegee and everything about it its jus that i got money elsewhere. and all i am going to say is that tuskegee is what YOU make it....
Christmas is coming up maybe you will recieve a little cash. A lot of store hire around the holidays so a part time job may help. I hope you can find money for the enrollment fee. Please keep me updated
Hmmm, $500???!!!Skegee than raised enrollment fee. Ok, as a Golden Tiger, I never paid for anything but my application fee(lol). I was never charge the $300 fee for enrollment and to this day, no matter how late I registered....I havent paid a late registration fee. Its all about conections not only @ Skegee but wherever u attend school. Call admissions & explain to them your situation and see if they can work out something for you; You will surprise what u might accomplish.

Thanks. I have a job @ GE so I am just going to save up. Over the holiday break I did a lot of overtime that is going to come handy. HOPEFULLY everything else goes well.

I couldn't agree more its all about ya connections they can either make you or break you.
And when the heyel did they change the enrollment fee last time I checked it was the 300 dollars that I paid.
All I call tell you is that if you are offered the scholarship package and Skegee is where you want to be then take it. God will work out the rest believe me I know til this day I still don't have a clue as to how or why I even got accepted to Skegee but I am here and I wouldn't have it any other way.
