Now I KNOW I dont have EVERY school represented on here as far as tha School Forums go..........
so what school needs a forum on here that I missed???
If Your school doesnt have one let me know so I can make one for ya..........
keep in mind that U need like 4+ people in order 2 have a Forum for ya school..........
else its just wasted Space..........
Also how many of y'all would participate in a Forum that is for Business and Technology news and info??
Quite frankly I think it would be a good thing for tha simple fact that 5-10 people a week ask me sumin about their computer or something technological.......
and are their any forums U think that need 2 be obsolete???

hbcu questions and concerns need to go!, and you need to join music and movie together into entertainment...and you need a seperate news forum.....heck why not join intellectual issues and news together because most of the intellectual crap springs from news anyways ...i mean i dont think you need MORE forums, just a better organization...cause to be honest with you, most people dont visit the forums you have now on a daily basis, its too much...why most of the forums are dying in the first place including the ones i mentioned

Rename some Categories and move some forums.

Ladies (Renamed)

Fun and Games (New)
News (New)
HBCU Graduate could have:
Alumni Hangout (Renamed)
Careers (New)
HBCU Interests could have:
Entertainment combining Movies, Music, and Games
Whats Poppin
Sports
Graphix & Web Design
Lyricist Lounge
HBCU Book Club
HBCU Archives could be left untouched.
Get rid of:
HBCU Prospects Forum
Opportunities and Advancement category
Can the private forums be private? Where only the actual group members see em? It adds length to the board.

:arrow: Ladies (or just throw Fellas & Ladies out, and use the Yard)
:arrow: Photo's (I dont know how much space this site can handle, but instead of cluttering the yard, etc with em, just throw em in right hurr)
To be honest with you, the "The College Life" forum could be where people post about their own schools, instead of each school having its own separate "private" forum...thats what PM's are for, right?

yeah i like his, because less is more......i dont wanna throw out the ladies and fellas though, lol i could imagine it now.......but why not combine "whats poppin" as well with entertainment cause its ****, and it talks about entertainment and the club and party scene in different areas...or either with "whats goin on"??
wait dont GET RID OF THE PRIVATE SCHOOL FORUMS!...i dont wanna speak on behalf of everyone, but i think most of the big schools like their privacy and the fact we can curse out our rivals without controversy :lol: ...kidding.... we love you hampton!
and maybe a seperate education forum--maybe for scholarships, careers, grad school help, resume help(imma a pro at resumes holla at me!), internships, etc?? or would that be better in college life, or would that be too bulky or just another **** forum??
why throw out the fellas and ladies... half the things males don't wanna hear and vica-versa... and if you want the drama to return, bring back the hidden forums :twisted: :lol:

i haven't read EVERYone's suggestions yet, but this is what most caught my eye...
I think that it is pointless to have a million & one separate sub-forums because it REALLY takes away from the Yard....
why put "News" in a separate sub-forum - as i'm sure already-mentioned, there are only going to be VERY FEW people to peep that area on the regular...the whole point of putting it HERE is so that there can be a WIDE range of opinion...
that's why i've never made one thread for all news stories either...i feel that each news story deserves its OWN thread....AND i know that after a while, if peepz know one thread is gonna contain ALL NEWS, they're going to aVOID it & eventually stop responding....just like what would happen if we dedicated a whole sub-forum to it....
i think NEWS and INFO. should stay IN THE YARD &, depending on the actual preference of each person putting the news up, each story might as well have its own thread to give clean and fresh responses from a variety of individuals...
and that goes for everything else....people be wantin' to post "music"-related topics & "movie"-related topics up in here, but they're scared it'll get moved to the corresponding sub-forums....y not just NIX those sub-forums & keep it all for the yard...
think about it....as of the summer, peepz started complainin' that tha Yard just ain't what it used 2 be, right? aside from not havin' as much drama up here, i think that's another reason....everything that used to MAKE the Yard has been STRIPPED from it....
if dudes have a question to ask the ladies....they go to the "LADIES" forum to ask it...they used 2 just ask it on the YARD....
if females have a question 2 ask tha fellaz....they go to the "FELLAS" forum to ask it....we used to just ask it on the YARD (i still do)....
if peepz have comments about music, movies, or anything else entertainment-related, they go to the corresponding sub-forums...they used to just ask the questions HERE....
same for damn near everything else...i think that's when everything WORKED...
or at LEAST if u're going to have music & movies outta the yard, like Shoya said, AT LEAST mush 'em together....having two separate ones is pretty pointless....and the object is to appeal to MORE people...that just ain't happenin' with them separate...u got "music lovers" & "movie lovers" segregated, lol...if u mixed the two areas, u FORCE these people 2 see and respond to MORE....
the ONLY sub-forums i can see being SEPARATE from the Yard....are the following...
- Members Photos - THAT is understandable because we have seen that the Member Photos section is VERY popular and CLUTTERED....like 90% of tha folkz who put there picturez up there don't even post anywhere else in tha Cafe, certainly not tha Yard....EEEEEEEEVERRRYBODY wanna be seen...so u might as well leave that in a separate area....
- The Lyricist Lounge - when peepz r feeling creative, upset, extra happy, or whateva...& they wanna put it down on print & show it 2 tha world...this is where they go...a LOT of peepz have thingz 2 get off their chests lyrically....so u might as well keep this separate as well...THIS would clutter tha Yard too...
- Questions & Concerns from HIGH SCHOOL/POTENTIAL HBCU students - now one thing that used 2 weigh down tha Yard & be annoying as ISH 2 come across every other 2 secondz wuz the posts like "which is better - A&T or NCCU?"...."which HU should i choose - Hampton or Howard?"...."i've been accepted to both FAMU and Bethune Cookman - tell me about their programs"....peepz would floooooooood tha Yard w/ these types of questions, and they are GOOD questions, but just don't need 2 be in the Yard....there should continue being a separate place for these issues to be acknowledged....
ummm, those r the ones that stick out the most....i suppose the "HBCU Alumni" area could go on being separate as well...
but my point is...everything else that is separate...it leaves u thinkin', "well damn - what exactly am i supposed 2 put in tha Yard, then?!?" & then peepz wanna get all hissy & ish that people be postin' lame, boring, uninteresting, etc. etc. etc. topics in the Yard...well it's almost like, WHAT ELSE WE SUPPOSED 2 PUT IN THERE?!?!?! CAN'T put anything about music, movies, love, books, any particular school, Greek life, & the list is ENDLESS....
i know this was long as ish, but the topic of this thread sent me an epiphany....i didn't realize that had been the problem of the Yard until just now.....but ya'll feel me?
