Whitney Houston Enters Rehab Again
Wednesday Mar 23, 2005 6:00pm EST
Singer Whitney Houston checked into an undisclosed rehab center Wednesday, PEOPLE has confirmed.
"Whitney Houston has reentered a facility for rehabilitation," rep Nancy Seltzer said in a statement to PEOPLE. No other details were immediately available.
This is the second time the 41-year-old singer has sought treatment in just over a year. In March 2004, Houston entered rehab for substance abuse. She checked out just five days later to begin private care.
"I'm finally completely me again," Houston told PEOPLE after last year's treatment. "I feel much stronger than ever before."
In a 2002 interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer, Houston, who is married to singer Bobby Brown, admitted they had both used alcohol, marijuana, **** and prescription pills.
In 1999 Houston's mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston, staged an intervention, but Whitney refused treatment. "I said, 'Mommy, you've raised me with the love, and with God. Now if I can't make it with you and with the love of God, I'm not putting my life in someone else's hands,'" Houston told Sawyer, adding that she had worked through her problems with prayer.
Last month, Houston became ill on a flight to Paris and was rushed to a hospital after a bout of apparent food poisoning.
Ummmmmmmmmmm I'm going to need Whit to get her life together....if not for her sake, then for Bobbi Christina. SPeaking of which...where the hell is she when all this is going on?!?!?!?!
